Bodegas Basillio Izquierdo wines are elaborated in the old cooperative El Collado de Laguardia, peculiar installations, outside the wine capital of Rioja Alavesa, created in the decade of the eighties to provide harvesters of the area with infrastructures for individualized elaboration.
It is at this place where Basilio acquired four private wineries and joined them together in order to turn them into useful six hundred squared meters, divided in three floors. The elaboration could reach the eighty thousand liters, which are contained in restored and adapted concrete containers. No technical displays are required, except for a hydraulic press from the fifties, to create almost ten high quality pressings which are necessary in each harvest.
